As the world calls on white people to collectively and individually step into an overdue reckoning with racial justice, this space will be a time to support each other in understanding how our work as therapists, of all disciplines, intersects. Ellen will encourage you to explore what it means to be an anti-racist therapist, building on-going awareness of white privilege, and the more general culture of white supremacy that often, by default, we find ourselves participating.
With this focus on power and privilege and using a consultation model for the group, the time will tend to the questions and needs that are coming from your clinical practice and anti-racism development. Associates may come in with questions, areas of concern or interest such as, when to talk about racism with clients, how to show up as anti-racist as a clinician, how to bridge the values of my clients, with my own, how to take accountable action and other considerations of how to show up as white therapist in this work.
You can expect a holistic approach to our dialogues, with respect for somatic learning and wisdom. At the start of the series, we will co-develop guidelines for dialogue and if a need for group processing arises, we will make time to work with these dynamics and explore restorative practices such as understanding the difference between intent and impact.

Ellen Morrison, LCSW serves our community by providing opportunities to engage in dialogue, reflection, healing, problem-solving and skill-building. Her specialties and training include family systems theory, cultural context and anti-oppression work, art and play therapy.
