When I was in grad school, I never imagined that the search for a flexible office space would eventually lead me here--launching a franchising initiative alongside my partner. Back then, my goals were simple: build my post-doc hours, grow my private practice, and provide quality care to my clients. But there was one big problem: I couldn’t find an office space that worked for me.
At the time, I was inspired by the car-share movement—the idea of sharing resources in a way that was flexible, practical, and sustainable. I wondered if something like that existed for office spaces. My research led me to the world of coworking, and before long, I realized this could be so much more than a solution to my personal office-space dilemma. It was a model that could empower therapists like me--giving us financial freedom, flexibility, and a sense of community. I’ll admit, entrepreneurship runs in my family, so the idea of growing something bigger felt natural to me. During grad school, I worked alongside incredible colleagues to keep the business running and growing. But everything changed when I met my life partner. Together, we started opening more locations and expanding the vision. Our friends and family were the first to show interest in what we were doing. They saw how coworking spaces could transform the way therapists work and create opportunities for others in their communities. So, with a strong foundation in place, my husband and I decided to explore franchising. Then, life happened. The pandemic shifted everyone’s priorities—including ours. At the same time, we welcomed our second child. For a while, the dream of franchising took a back seat, but recently, it’s been reignited. Now more than ever, we feel a renewed sense of hope for the future—a future where co-therapy spaces aren’t just about flexibility and financial opportunity but about empowering communities to thrive together. Here’s the thing: coworking spaces for therapists need to be different. They’re not just about desks and chairs or Wi-Fi and coffee. They’re about creating an environment that feels welcoming, calming, and supportive—a space where therapists and their clients can feel at ease. More importantly, they should embody the spirit of the "co-movement"--collaboration, connection, and co-creation. Our franchise initiative isn’t about chasing profit. If you know us, you’ll understand why. We want to challenge the greed-based models that often come with franchising and create something entirely different—something rooted in transparency, shared purpose, and community-driven values. We’ve also been inspired by many coworking spaces that are already doing incredible work. At the same time, we’ve noticed some that don’t quite live up to their claims of fostering community—they treat “connection” as a buzzword rather than a lived value. Our goal is to build a network of co-therapy spaces that truly embody the heart and soul of the coworking movement. So, what’s next? We’re excited to connect with therapists who are passionate about creating coworking spaces in their own communities. We’ll be here to guide you through every step—sharing our experiences, tools, and systems to make the process as seamless as possible. Most of all, we’re looking forward to the creative process of building something meaningful together. If you’ve ever dreamed of opening a coworking space for therapists, you can read more about this initiative, reach out to us directly, or sign up to be notified about our first informational meeting! We'd love to hear from you and look forward to connecting.
