SIMA SPACE Cross-racial consultation group

Sima Space holds a monthly consultation group with Sabeen Shaiq, LCSW and Ellen Morrison, LCSW.   The central focus of this group is to support therapists as they examine countertransference issues.  Successful countertransference management is considered an essential component to effective therapy.  A special focus will be given to addressing the impact of power and privilege on the therapy process, as well as the importance of discussing race in deepening the work.  The consultation group welcomes therapists of all clinical perspectives and therapeutic orientations, irrespective of client demographic.
